OUR MISSION

To cultivate the genius of all people by centering the education of Black students and preparing them to excel and to serve as leaders in and for their communities.

OUR CORE VALUES

Ashé Prep’s school culture is based on the seven principles of Kwanzaa, the Nguzo Saba. These values undergird everything from student classroom participation to board decision-making.

NIA/PURPOSE

We know the purpose of our lives and we build our community together.

KUUMBA/CREATIVITY

All that we touch in our lives and our community is more beautiful.

IMANI/CONVICTION

We believe in ourselves, our family, our community, our people, and our collective future.

KUJICHAGULIA/SELF-DETERMINATION

We define ourselves, name ourselves, and speak for ourselves.

UJAMAA/COOPERATIVE ECONOMICS

We build our own businesses and profit from them together.

UJIMA/COLLECTIVE WORK & RESPONSIBILITY

We build our community together, take on each other’s problems, and solve them together.
